Moderne Galerie Saarbrücken

Projects on contemporary art

After Pae White, Giuseppe Penone is the second internationally active artist to design the impressive, up to 14m high exhibition space in the center of the extension of the "Moderne Galerie Saarbrücken" with a site-specific installation.

Giuseppe Penone (born 1947 in Garessio / Ponte, Piedmont) is one of the most important and influential representatives of contemporary Italian art. He was honoured with solo exhibitions all over the world, participated in the documenta and the Venice Biennale several times, and in 2014 received the Praemium Imperiale, the most important prize for contemporary art. Penone's aesthetics are based on a dialogue with nature and its forces and revolve around the question of the limits of one's own body and the limits of one's own perception.
