Speech to high school graduates of the Saarland
On July 4th, the annual speech to Saarland's high school graduates took place at Saarbrücken's Osthafen. In the Silo-Garden, bestselling author Julia Schoch read her Abitur speech "Love love love - A greeting from the future" to the graduates and their families. Julia Schoch encouraged the listeners to throw themselves into love: "Waste yourself. Don't save yourself and your feelings. Don't be pragmatic, don't be timid, and especially don't be cynical. Be generous and courageous in matters of the heart."
In addition to Julia Schoch's speech, Jessica Heide, Secretary of State for the Department of Education, also held a speech. A poetry slam by Anna Luca Ames, music by Juna Unger and band, food and drinks rounded off the program.
The event has been organized by the Saarländischer Rundfunk, the Saarland Ministry of Education and Culture and the Peter und Luise Hager Foundation.
