The Foundation supports the ‘Bicycles for children on the Wackenberg’ project. Children and young people in the Wackenberg neighbourhood are provided with suitable and roadworthy bicycles. These bicycles are selected by the children under professional and pedagogical guidance, prepared, assembled, repaired and later also maintained. In the process, the children acquire manual skills through play and learn to take responsibility and use the available resources sparingly. At the same time, the children's motor skills and mobility are encouraged and correct behaviour in traffic is taught. The children's parents are involved in the project right from the start. In co-operation with the Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrradclub (ADFC), bicycle skills training courses are held for the various age groups.
